Yes! We require all dogs that come into the salon to be leashed and under full control. We ask that you keep your dog close to you while in our salon. If you leave your dog unattended, you may be asked to leave. We ask that you "lock" your flex-lead if you have a retractable leash, so that your dog cannot wander. Please keep in mind, even if your dog is friendly, other dogs in the salon may not be. We ask that every dog is kept close to their owners to keep other owners and dogs safe while in our facility. If you forgot a leash, please carry your dog or ask a team member if you can borrow a slip lead. Thank you for respecting our rules and safety guidelines.

We require 24 hour advance notice for cancellations. If a client cancels within the 24 hour window, it will be considered a no-show. Ollu charges the card on file for the base price of the service scheduled. This is why we require having a card on file for all full-service clients. We understand that life can get crazy, but we do ask that you respect the groomer's time and arrive for your appointment on time. We are usually able to still accommodate your dog up to 15 minutes past your appointment time, but if you arrive 15 minutes past your appointment time, a late fee of $20 will be added to your bill.

Though grooming appointments vary based on the dog's coat, size, haircut, and behavior, you can usually expect 2-3 hours for a groom, with large dogs at 3-4 hours. You will receive a phone call when your dog is ready for pick up. If you need a more specific time estimate, feel free to ask your groomer at check in.

Most long haired or curly coated dogs should be groomed every 6-8 weeks, with regular brushing in between grooms. If your dog is a short coated dog, like a lab or chihuahua, they may be bathed on a less frequent basis.

We always reccommend prebooking your next appointment at checkout for best availability. During busy seasons, such as spring and holidays, large dogs may need to be booked a month or more in advance and small dogs 2-3 weeks.

For the safety of your dog and other dogs in the salon, we require Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations for all dogs over 6 months of age. Puppies under 6 months of age must have had their first round of puppy vaccinations.

It varies for each dog based on how fast their nails grow, and how much they wear down naturally. Nails should not touch the ground when your dog is standing with relaxed feet. The easiest warning sign is when your dog's nails start to click on the ground. For many dogs all it takes is a nail trim around once a month. If your dog has overgrown quicks (the inner blood vessel of the nail) we may be unable to cut the nails short enough to raise them off the ground. If that's the case, we recommend getting a dremel nail trim weekly until the quick starts to recede and we can cut the nails to their proper length.

The dremel is an electric file that allows us to get the nails a little shorter and smoother. This reduces scratching on hard wood floors or your arms, and is recommended for anyone trying to get their dog's quick to recede.

Dogs are usually able to empty their anal glands on their own when they pass a bowel movement. However, due to diet or structural issues, some dogs aren't able to do it on their own. These dogs need their glands expressed by groomers (externally) or the vet (internally). Excessive scooting, licking, and a weird fishy odor are all signs that dogs may need their glands expressed. We recommend checking in with your vet before getting your dog's glands expressed for the first time, as manual expression can inhibit the natural emptying of the glands.

For dogs that need all over haircuts, we recommend coming in around 10-12 weeks of age. We do require that they have had their first round of vaccinations before coming to the salon. Your puppy's first groom will not include a full haircut, so don't wait until your puppy's hair is long and tangled. Starting with just a bath, nails, and some light trimming allows your puppy to get used to the process before fully jumping in.

Our prices are based on several factors, including: - Coat type - Dog's size - Type of haircut - Coat condition - Behavioral issues - Additional services As you can see, many of these factors are variable. For example, your dog may come in with lots of tangles after several weekends up North, requiring extra time for brushing and dematting. Or a dog that is particularily difficult to work with may grow more comfortable with the grooming process and no longer require special handling fees. Feel free to ask us about price at check-in. Many of these variabilities can be predicted after we see your dog and discuss what type of haircut and services you would like.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you want any changes to your dog's haircut. We are happy to make alterations free of charge for up to a week after your appointment free of charge, just give us a call to set up a time. We will also make notes of any changes you asked for so that we can incorparate them into your dog's next groom.
